If you grew up the way I grew up, your life would be surrounded by music. One specific genre would be Rap. G, Bone thugz n Harmony, Lauryn Hill, and many more.
Everyday my family would sit down in our first living room and just jam out to my brothers playing the guitar. We would rap and just have a great time so when I saw a company like YG, it reminded me of my family.
It showed me that you don't have to be blood related love each other and hang out as well. Being that my childhood was immensely affected by Hip-Hop and Rap, I quickly gravitated to this company that was famous for their rappers and hip-hop artists. It was easy for me to love it because Rap was practically in my blood and so I quickly related to it than any other company.
The love for music in my family also influenced me. My first K-pop song was Bigbang's Bad Boy and from then on I looked more into them, finding that their love for music was the same as mine. They all hold this passion for it that touched my heart.
Also growing up in my family, strong women are found everywhere. Because my culture is very Men driven, the girls in my family seem to hate those expectations and we took it into our own hands to fight for what girls could do.
Of course we got little done due to the fact that my mom is a really traditional lady so she didn't approve of what we did but my aunt's and cousins were all on the same page with women empowerment. Now, when I hear women empowerment, I think 2NE1! They showed me such strong women power that I just had to stick around for more from YG. With their crazy, bold style to their strong, mesmerizing lyrics, they reflected what I saw in the girls of my family.
Ok so from my number one reason was mail just hip-hop and rap, YG covers so many more genres as well. I'm just more comfortable with Rap and Hip-Hop. Our Kings, or well at least my Kings, have covered almost every genre there is from to hip-hop, rnb, pop, rap, and many more. Their songs are just so different from others and they hold it down for the senior groups out there as well as Suju, SHINee, 2pm am , and many more.
Their women empowerment songs always bringing so much adrenaline to listeners always catch my eyes. To me, WINNER stands out from YG's more recent bands because they seem to have all the odds against them and yet they are still here with amazing, authentic music.
They give a more indie pop genre but still have some of the greatest rappers in the groups that give it the YG signature sound.
Our rascals themselves, they have given YG a sweeter twist to the name. Their pop love songs and jazz twists are just the cutest thing ever. They hold a more lighter vibe for the company. Zion T is just that one artist that doesn't really come around but when he does, You know he's there.
His music holds that similar vibe as well. He does more classy, softer songs with a jazz, rnb mix to it. This sweet hearts voice is so raspy and unique compared to others and she does rnb, ballads, and pop songs. As you can see, there are much genres that YG artists cover. Now I'm not saying that other companies don't cover a variety of genres but the way YG artists display it catches my eyes.
As you can see, in that gif, our goofy Kings are the epitome of weird personality. They were just the sweetest thing and they showed how siblings really are lol.
The whole episode I was cracking up!! It was so funny and cute. The show was so funny and that was only the first part out of four parts and it gets better in each part of the episode. You could see how much of dorks these boys are and how hilarious they are. The personality that most people think YG artists have is cold and very swag like but they reverse your thoughts so hard. They are absolutely the cutest, most sweetest things. You cannot forget our 4D members of groups.
Shout out to T. P, Bom, and Jisoo!! They have a whole different story of their own. Through the comments, I was able to find out that her name is Jennie, she was 15 at the time they filmed the MV, and she is a trainee in YG who is going to debut soon. The teasers and the hype over BP made me excited to see what this mysterious group of girls are gonna show us.
After their debut, R. P my little heart who fell for another group once again. So that was my story with YG and how I came to stan all these groups and artists by either coincidence or some little research. I choose to stan these groups and solo singers because I really liked the music they put out, their personalities, or the bond they have among themselves. YG might now be the best boss ever which is true lol , but you can't deny the bond between YG Family. They look after each other and help each other.
When I read those comments, it saddens me that they get that unnecessary hate. Some of the common comments I see are:. I don't know why people even like them. How about IU who just loves everything Taeyang does? We can't forget our BamBam who is a hardcore fan of GD. When it comes to BB, some people tend to just look at the surface and never really get to know the members.
They say BB are just about business. They have been together for over 10 years, if they aren't best friends, I don't know what who else are. For the first one, I can see why people will say that since CL is the only one active in 2NE1 currently. I don't blame them though.
YG did dirty with 2NE1. He ruined a legendary group. I mean do people like to start fanwars for no specific reason. How many times do I have to say it? CL is a performer more than a rapper. Yeah, she might not be the best rapper in Kpop out there, but you can't deny her stage charisma and her ability to hype up a dead audience.
What really is talent? Are you born with it or do you work hard to attain it? As if going through 3 survival shows is not enough of hard work, plus the years of training. Fans have been waiting for BP to debut since , so what do you expect? We were too excited to finally see our girls debut and YG made the right hype over them, so it drew people's attention.
Being popular is different from being overrated. I don't like it when people say that BP are queens because we haven't really seen that much from them and it would only put pressure on them to work hard to deserve the title. Just give them some time and we will see what they present us with. These are a few of the hate comments I see that are targeted toward my YG babies.
I just want people to actually get to know these groups. Who knows? You might actually like them. This goes to any other groups who are not under YG. Don't just hate on groups. Take the time to explore a group and see why people like them. If you go to my profile, it says which groups I stan in the bio. Love you all for reading. Tell me if you are stan of a specific company or if you aren't and make sure to tell me your opinion in the comments on the hate YG groups constantly get.
Be proud of the groups you stan. Love the groups, just don't like the company. This post is everything, as a YG stan I feel you.
