Baltimore's Mt. By the end of last year, the hospital's annual outpatient visits had surpassed 50, Stein said the hospital has long recognized that outpatient visits would continue to "take off" and that more care space would be needed to meet demand, but growth occurred even more quickly than expected. With the new expansion, the outpatient center will be able to see another 15, to 20, patients on an annual basis, Stein said.
MWPH has been working on this expansion for about two years. The project included the addition of six new medical exam rooms, seven behavioral health therapy rooms, as well as new support spaces, updated reception area and other upgrades, such as an improved ventilation system.

Justina Starobin , vice president of outpatient services, noted that the center was especially in need of additional space dedicated to behavioral health, as demand for mental health services in the region has "exploded" over the past several years. It unfortunately seems to have a never ending waiting list," Stein said.
