Both replies will finish Under Saarthal and start the quest Hitting the Books. You can also ask him if he ever met with the Psijic Order and he will respond: "Personally? No, not I. One of their number used to advise the Arch-Mage when I was but an Apprentice here. But that was a great many years ago, before all the members of the order were called back to the Isle of Artaeum , and it disappeared entirely. When you have returned the missing books to Urag gro-Shub , thus initiating the quest Good Intentions , the Arch-Mage's Quarters will be locked once again because of a very special visitor from the Psijic Order.
When Ancano has insulted Tolfdir and asked you to follow him, he will lead you up to the Quarters where a puzzled Savos Aren will be accompanied by Psijic Order member Quaranir. After slowing down time, Quaranir will privately warn you against the Eye of Magnus. When you return to normal, Quaranir will leave the College grounds and Savos Aren will be just as confused as Ancano: "I'm I'm not sure what happened. A monk from the Psijic Order, here, after all these years, and then he just leaves.
I hope we didn't offend him somehow. Very strange indeed. I thought I made it quite clear that this was a subject inappropriate for conversation. Please don't allow him to continue to discuss the subject.
After your informative conversation with the Augur of Dunlain, you are told to report back to Savos Aren with the alarming news about the Eye. When you surface from the Midden, Savos Aren will be found in the Hall of the Elements around the clock, finally interested in the Eye. When you tell him you have important news he will ask: "Really? And what might that be? I'd certainly love to have such a powerful staff, but I'm not really sure that any of us need it.
And he specifically mentioned the Staff of Magnus? I'm impressed with your initiative. Of course, someone will need to follow up on this. Since you went so far as seek out the Augur for advice, I thought you'd be more enthusiastic.
Keep this up, and you'll do quite well for yourself. I'm not sure we'd ever find something like that I seem to recall Mirabelle mentioning the staff somewhat recently. Why don't you see if she can tell you anything? I'm quite pleased with your progress, you know. You've certainly proven yourself to be more than a mere Apprentice.
Well done. This circlet once proved invaluable to me. I hope it can be of use to you now. When you return from Mzulft you will find that Ancano finally snapped and sealed off the Hall of the Elements in its entirety, making it impossible for anyone to get in.
As you enter the College you will find Savos, at last aware of the danger present in his College, and engaged in conversation with Master Wizard Mirabelle Ervine about what to do and how to lift the spell:.
Mirabelle : "I don't know. It's like a ward, but who's casting it? I want to know what he's doing in there! When you talk to Savos you will have three different topics to choose from. When you tell him you know where to find the Staff of Magnus he will respond: "Excellent.
I'd suggest that we go retrieve it immediately, but right now we have more pressing matters. Ancano has somehow locked himself in the hall. He's up to something, and I intend to put a stop to it. Help us get through this, will you? We're throwing everything we have at it.
He's in there, doing We don't know what. We're trying to get in now. I will have his head for this, I assure you. Help take this down, will you? We're throwing everything we can at it. After clearing out the town, you then go back and talk to her to get some items from her before going off and searching for the staff.
Also, I don't think you're supposed to be able to loos Savos' corpse, so that's normal. There arent any anomolies appearing and merebella just asks me to find savos's body which is right outside the college, so im guessing theres some kind of glitch happening I did this last night, and you don't do a proper search of the body, but it does say 'search body' when you are outside. What happens if you go to the town of winterhelm? You are saying there are no anomalies?
Then I would load an old save. There dont seem to be any anomolies in the town of winterhold I have also tried loading from a previous save and going through savos dying again, and again there are no anomolies appearing in the town. I suppose ill keep trying or start another quest. More topics from this board Here's why. During Aren's leadership of the College, he was careful not to anger the already-incensed locals, though he allowed the practice of virtually all forms of magic , only barring some experiments for safety reasons. He also worked to keep the College a completely independent institution, refusing the entreaties of the Synod , the College of Whispers , the Stormcloaks , and the Imperial Legion.
While he occasionally shared information when requested, he refused to allow "local politics" to distract from the College's true purpose: the study of magic. For unknown reasons, however, a Thalmor representative, Ancano , became his "advisor". Unfortunately, this would lead to Aren's death.
